Accessibility Statement
§1 – Legal Basis and Commitment
MONO-KROM Gallery is committed to ensuring digital accessibility in accordance with the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG), the European Accessibility Act (EAA), and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. This statement outlines our ongoing measures to ensure accessibility and address remaining challenges transparently.
§2 – Scope
This accessibility statement applies to the online presence of MONO-KROM Gallery at www.mono-krom.com, including its responsive and mobile views.
§3 – Applicable Standards
We strive to meet the following technical and legal standards:
- WCAG 2.1 Level AA (W3C Recommendation).
- EN 301 549 (European ICT accessibility standard).
- Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (Germany), effective June 28, 2025.
- Directive (EU) 2019/882 – European Accessibility Act.
§4 – Implemented Measures
We have implemented the following accessibility improvements:
- Keyboard navigation across all key sections.
- Visible focus indicators.
- All product and navigation images contain alternative text.
- Consistent semantic headings (H1–H5).
- Skip-to-content link implemented.
- Dynamic

attributes based on page language. - Newsletter and form field labels added with proper semantics.
- ARIA labels and roles continuously added for modals and navigation.
§5 – Current Limitations
The following items are known and either already resolved or actively being addressed:
- Header and footer are now semantically marked with
role="banner"
androle="contentinfo"
. - Newsletter form fields now include explicit labels or
aria-label
attributes. - Third-party modal components (e.g. payment buttons) are being updated to include proper ARIA roles. Resolution is in progress with the vendor.
§6 – Design and Visual Contrast
MONO-KROM Gallery maintains color contrast ratios aligned with WCAG requirements. Internal implementation details regarding colors and design systems are not disclosed publicly but are actively maintained to meet legal standards.
§7 – External Tools and Integrations
We make use of third-party solutions such as Trusted Shops which confirm that their embedded components are compliant with European accessibility laws.
